— Statement from Eric Melillo —
Liberals Dragging Feet on Highway Twinning
In 2009, Federal Conservatives committed funding for the twinning of the highway from Kenora to Manitoba . But the provincial Liberals spent their share elsewhere.
Nonetheless, last year, Bob Nault told KenoraOnline there should be “no difficulties” beginning the project in Spring of 2019. And now, the provincial government is back at the table but Bob’s Liberals suddenly aren’t ready to commit.
Bob has proven, once again, that he is not as advertised.
Once again, he failed to deliver on the highway twinning; despite this being a project he claimed to be his top priority.
Bob says the government of the day did not complete their job – I couldn’t agree more. Him and his Liberal colleagues have done nothing but drag their feet on this file.
Simply put, this is just another example of Bob failing to deliver for the Kenora riding.
The residents of our riding have taken note of his inaction, and on October 21st will show him that he has failed for the last time.
This fall, we have an opportunity to usher in a new era of politics for our riding by sending a strong, Conservative representative to Ottawa who will stand up for the north and deliver real results- not rhetoric- for our region.
I am committed to working with First Nation communities, all levels of government, and all partners to get infrastructure projects moving. And under the leadership of Andrew Scheer, Canada’s Conservatives recognize the need to build infrastructure for better communities and development of the north.
